With a proud heritage and a deep love for Indonesian food, I bring you the vibrant flavors and diverse tastes that make up this incredible cuisine.
Growing up in a culturally diverse family in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, I was blessed to be exposed to Javanese, Chinese, and West Kalimantan Melayu dishes from an early age. My mother and grandmother taught me the art of cooking, igniting a lifelong passion that has led me to share the richness of Indonesian food with you.

In mid-2019, my husband and I traveled to the Netherlands to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary, and I was astounded by the popularity of Indonesian cuisine there. Every corner seemed to house an Indonesian restaurant, each showcasing the diversity of flavors on small plates known as Rijstaffel. This experience inspired me to create a similar concept in Australia so I can introduce more Australians to the incredible flavors of Indonesian cuisine. Not knowing how to start a restaurant business, I kept this dream for a few years.
Before I can fulfill my dream to start a Rijsttafel restaurant, in mid 2021, I ventured to Brisbane and opened a catering business named Dimple Food, delighting customers in the South East Queensland region with Indonesian dishes incorporated with local taste. The overwhelming positive feedback I received paved the way for my dream to come true.
Those positive feedback energised me to start fulfilling my dream. After three years running a catering business, in early 2024, I proudly opened Nusa, an Rijsttafel restaurant and cocktail bar, located in the vibrant West End area near Brisbane South Bank.

Nusa, meaning "archipelago" in Bahasa Indonesia, encapsulates the essence of Indonesian cuisine - a mosaic of flavors and culinary traditions from the many islands that make up Indonesia. At Nusa, we serve our dishes in the Rijstaffel style, allowing you to savor and explore the diverse tastes of Indonesia in one memorable dining experience.
